The all in one destination Israel offers one of the largest ranges of sites and climates in only few hours from border to border. You can start the day at sunrise on the mountains of Jerusalem, film at noon on the beautiful beaches of the coast and finish at sundown in the breathtaking alleys of old Jaffa. Or, you can start with morning shooting on a snowy mountain, move the green meadows of the Galilee, and finish few hours later at the dry desert of the Dead Sea. All in one day! Israel is known for its Biblical sites but can offer none the less great landscape, sea shores, cosmopolitan modern culture, hip urban looks, and extraordinary world renowned architectural buildings The great advantage in filming in Israel is the weather. Israel has over 300 sunny days a year.
Northern Israel has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild wet winters. On the coast summer temperatures and humidity can be oppressive but are tempered by sea breezes. Winters are mild with frost and snow a rarity. Inland, rainfall is heavier with cool nights but a drier, more comfortable heat in the summer (average rainfall is 1,200-400 mm). In the south there is virtually no rainfall (less than 200 mm). Winter nights can be quite chilly but summers are very hot with clear skies.
Don’t believe the hype In light of the country’s top sense of security, special emphasis is placed on providing local inhabitants and foreign visitors with the highest level of protection possible, by all means. As to personal possessions - crime rate in Israel is very low. Most hotels have either large central safe deposit boxes, or personal safes in each room. Reaching Israel from major cities around the world is easy and convenient. The country has a centrally located international airport that can be reached by air from Europe in anywhere between 1½ to 5 hours, and from the U.S. in 11 to 14 hours.
Israel has a well-developed top world class infrastructure and broad array of services in all major population centers. Hebrew is the official language, but English is widely spoken, as is Russian due to 1.4 million israeli-Russian citizens. As in most parts of the world, business can be conducted easily in English, and if needed, in Russian too, or in Arabic in some parts. Entering Israel does not require a visa for most nationalities, although it is advisable to check with a local embassy. If a visa is required, a letter should be obtained from a local Israeli embassy where you live and from that in Israel, as well as a letter from the employer in Israel, specifying the nature of the visit as well as arrival and departure dates. All major cities offer hotels of various categories, from the simplest, designed for a night's sleep and simple breakfast, to luxury accommodations, offering sophisticated cuisine, conference rooms equipped with advanced electronics, and all other accoutrements to be expected from luxury hotels everywhere. The quality and prices of these accommodations vary and relatively lower than Europe.
It is therefore recommended to contact Rabel Films for guidance, seeing that we are intimately familiar with the local scene. We are in a position to negotiate with a wide range of hotels along other complimenting facilities. International car rental companies like Avis and Budget have operations in Israel, offering courteous, efficient service. Rabel Films can offer assistance here too, seeing that we possess a range of agreements with relevant companies and service agencies.
